The Lakeland Police Department just released the name of the driver in yesterday's hit & run on Memorial. Thomas Eugene Simpson, 53, came forward at midnight to give police a sworn statement. The dump truck was taken in as evidence. Police have not charged Simpson and state the matter is still under investigation.
Witnesses are encouraged to call LPD Officer Mike Catalano at 863-834-2507.
